My Spring home decor is ready to be shared…at least I think it is anyways! I have taken my time… like…. the WHOLE month of March… to finalize my spring decor around the house. Life just got a little cray-cray and I have been pulling things together a little bit at a time. Honestly, I enjoy taking my time adding things here and there as I see fit and I am never completely finished tweaking my decor. As new items come home I find a perfect spot for them. Decor is an ever evolving work of art at my home. I am never truly “finished”… if you know what I mean? Please tell me I am not the only one who constantly adjusts and swaps out decor!
I believe “if you decorate for it… it will come”! Therefore, I am dusting off my spring decor and crossing my fingers lovely temperate spring weather comes a little early this year. This girl has a bad case of SPRING FEVER. The following are two mantles that I freshened up for spring!
The living room mantle is one place I constantly play with. Since we spend a lot of time in this room, I am always restyling this mantle…adding fresh flowers, a simple small seasonal detail, or my newest favorite vintage find that I just can’t get enough of! For spring, I chose my favorite burlap bunny to place in this highly viewed space. I love his wild frayed ears and the fact that I can tweak them from time to time… always playing!
I layered a vintage white window to add brightness to the dark glass tiled wall. Chippy spindles were a perfect height and lend a time worn feature to the white concrete pitcher. You will notice the baby’s breath from my winter mantle… still not ready to let go as they bring a warm feeling in my heart! I set one of my vintage book stacks down and topped it with a sweet metal pedestal dish containing a simple nest and a couple faintly colored robins eggs. The light touch of bluish green color is just enough to welcome spring. Loving this mantle right now!
The fireplace mantle in my kids work room also got a little spring time love! I played with a little more color on this mantle because it was in the kids room. Typically I do not choose to decorate with a lot of bold colors… so I kept the color palette neutral only adding a small bit of green and pink.
Those of you who follow me on Instagram you will recognize these cute little white bunnies I placed inside a vintage soda crate. I love the contrast of fresh clean white against the dark worn wood and the distressed rusty metal bands give this piece so much character. For a touch of color I added mossy green eggs to the top of crisp white candle sticks. Once again I added one of my vintage book stacks wrapped in thick jute twine. Last, I placed old terracotta pots on the end to hold the books in place. I love old terracotta pots… you can never have too many in spring decor!
I fell head over heels when I saw this adorable bunny garland at our local Home Goods. I think the soft pale pink adds a nice hue to this mantle display without going too over the top with color. Scripty linen, clean white lace, simple crocheted flowers, and wooden buttons are a fun mix of layered texture. The flowers make my heart happy since they remind me of the crocheted flowers my grandmother used to make.
Can we talk about my admiration for little moss bunnies? Moss adds a refreshing green color to my springtime decor and they are just so darn cute! This little bunny is playing peek-a-boo from within the white lantern. I added a few birch rounds beneath him so he would stand just a bit taller to be displayed through the glass. You will also notice I am reusing the clover I planted for the kids for Saint Patrick’s Day… my green thumb is doing well these days so I am keeping them around for a little while longer! I was craving some texture so I rolled up jute rugs and intertwined them with this chippy old ladder. I found this old chippy ladder at one of my favorite vintage pop up markets. It is so charming and is a fun way to add height to the hearth decor. Topping the ladder are more vintage books… yep they are everywhere!
I enjoy this time of year… now off to enjoy this glorious weather! Happy Spring Everyone!
